Week Without Walls

From March 13th to 17th, 2017 is QISS' annual Week Without Walls program. It is a week in which students participate in educational and creative workshops in various parts of China. Both the MS and HS will participate in this program. Click here for: Hangzhou Trip, Henan Trip, Tai Shan Trip, & Yunnan Trip.

Consistent with the schools ESLRs, this program is designed to Challenge students Physically, Emotionally, Intellectually, and Spiritually, in order to produce a greater awareness of the world around them, their place in that world, and to put theory into practice. This QISS program takes students beyond the walls of the school and into the community to learn first-hand through observation and hands-on participation. Students will experience a rich variety of activities, including physically-oriented activities, cultural awareness trips to different cities, and community service trips.

Students are required to keep a journal of this experience. Journal writing provides students with an opportunity to reflect on their experiences. Each activity has a variety of methods to assess student development and learning. The program offers opportunities for students to connect with each other and with teachers through experiencing Week Without Walls activities.
