QISS Weekly Update: 2017-2018 WEEK 31

Dear QISS Families and Friends,

This week progress reports will be coming home for your review. Included in the progress reports is information regarding the student-led conferences scheduled for May 22^nd and 23^rd. Please take time to read through that information and make your appointment choices. Also, there is a letter from Dr. Teston referencing some schedule changes to the last week of school.

本周学生将把成绩单带回家，其中包含了在5月22日和23日举行的学生主导的会议的一些信息。请您花时间阅读这些信息并选好合适见面时间。此外，还有一封来自校长Dr. Teston的信，其中提到了学校最后一周的一些时间表变化。

이번주에 중간 성적표가 각 가정으로 발송됩니다. 성적표 봉투 안에는 5월22-23일 양일간 있을 학생주도 학부모 회의에 관한 서신이 동봉됩니다. 서신을 읽어보신후 회의시간을 선택하시고 학교로 보내주시기 바랍니다. 또한 학년도 마지막 주 스케줄에 관한 디렉터의 레터도 읽어보시기 바랍니다.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

QISS has begun the initial phases of opening an early childhood program for 2 & 3 year olds on our campus. If you or a friend in the community is interested in their child joining, please let our admissions office know as soon as possible at 6889-8888.

QISS已经开始在我们的校园里为2到3岁的孩子开办幼儿入学初始项目。如果您或者您朋友的孩子有兴趣入学，请尽快联系我们的招生办公室，电话是6889-8888。

QISS는 새학년도 부터 만 2-3세 학생들을 위한 영유아 프로그램을 새로 오픈합니다. 본 프로그램에 관심이 있으신 학부모님 혹은 주변분들은 학교 대표번호 6889-8888로 연락 주시기 바랍니다.

Next week, the final re-enrollment meetings will take place in the QISS cafeteria at 9am. Grades 2 & 3 will be on Tuesday, May 15^th and Pre-K/Kindergarten and Grade 1 will be Thursday May 17^th.

下周，最后的再注册会议将于上午9点在QISS餐厅举行，二、三年级将于5月15日(星期二)举行，Pre-K/K和一年级将于5月17日(星期四)举行。

다음주에 마지막 학년별 재등록 회의가 교내 식당에서 오전 9시에 있습니다. 5월15일 화요일 2/3학년, 5월17일 목요일 유치부/1학년의 회의가 진행됩니다.

The month of May is considered Teacher Appreciation Month. On behalf of the QISS staff, PTA and leadership team, we would like to give a big THANK YOU for all the hard work and dedication the QISS teachers and instructional assistants give to our students. The #1 indicator of a great school and the potential for success is the caliber of teachers. We know that at QISS, we have the best of the best. The QISS teaching staff cares about kids. Our teachers believe in their students, challenge them every day to be better, and then celebrate those successes.

SCHOOL LIFE

Grades 1 & 2 collaborating on their Key Assignment Unit that focuses on Measurement.

In grade 3, students are testing how weigh affects motion.

Grade 7 ELA students were exploring the question “Why do people act heroically?”

七年级英语课上，学生们在探讨“为什么人们表现得很英勇？”

7학년 ELA학생들은 “사람들은 왜 용맹하게 행동하는가?”에 관한 질문을 연구하고 있습니다.

In the Mixed Media elective, students were using math to build scale sculptures and architecture in Minecraft.

在混合媒体选修课中，学生们用数学在“我的世界”中建造规模雕塑和建筑。

멀티미디어 과목 수강 학생들은 수학을 이용 마인크래프트 건축과 조각상을 제작하고 있습니다.

In the Ceramics elective, high school students were learning how to use the Potter’s wheel.

在陶瓷选修课中，高中生正在学习如何使用陶器的轮子。

세라믹 과목의 고등학교 수강생들은 돌림판을 이용 도자기를 빗고 있습니다.

Alex in Grade 6 places 2^nd in the Rubik’s Cube tournament that was hosted by QISS. The 5^th annual ACAMIS MathQuest event brought in schools from Shanghai, Suzhou, Beijing, Shenzhen and Macau.

六年级的Alex在由QISS主办的魔方锦标赛中名列第二。第五届年度AcMIS MathQuest活动吸引了来自上海、苏州、北京、深圳和澳门的学校参加。

6학년 Alex학생이 Rubik’s Cube 대회에서 2위를 차지 했습니다. 제 5회 ACAMIS MathQuest행사는 상해,소주,북경,심천 그리고 마카오의 국제학교 학생들이 참가 하였습니다.
