Dear QISS Families and Friends,
As Qingdao weather changes, let us all be mindful of our students’ health conditions. Particularly our littlest ones, please keep your child at home if sick or is showing any signs of sickness. As we transition to the colder weather, please make sure to send appropriate clothing. Make sure your child leaves home appropriately dressed for school and the weather conditions.
最近岛城气温变化，请大家注意身体健康。特别是我们小小班的宝贝们，如果孩子生病或有生病迹象请让孩子在家里休息。换季时节请让孩子穿着合适的衣服来学校上课。
칭다오 날씨에 변화가 시작되었습니다. 학생들이 더욱더 건강관리를 해야할 시기가 되었습니다. 특히 어린 학생들의 경우 몸이 아프거나 건강에 이상증상이 보일시 등교를 중단하고 가정에서 돌봐주시기 바랍니다. 날씨가 곧 시원해지기에 학생들이 계절에 맞는 옷을 입을수 있도록 부탁드립니다. 등교시 학생들이 학교와 날씨에 적절한 복장을 착용할수 있도록 각 가정에서 지도해 주시기 바랍니다.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Open House nights are next week. It is advised to leave your children at home for open house because this is a night for our parents to meet their children’s teachers. Also, our teachers will be sharing information about their classes. On the calendar, individual parent conferences will be October 29 & 30.
学校开放日下周举行，建议不要带孩子来开放日，这样家长可以和老师见面交谈，老师将为家长介绍本学年的学习内容。单独一对一的家长会安排在10月29日和30日。
오픈하우스 나이트가 다음주에 있습니다. 이날은 학부모님들께서 자녀의 담당 교사를 만나는 자리로 자녀들은 함께 할수 없는 자리 입니다. 이날 담임 및 담당 교사들이 학급에 관한 다양한 정보를 제공합니다. 개인 상담은 10월29/30일 양일간 학부모 교사 상담시간이 추후 있을 예정이며 교내 학사일정표를 확인해 주시기 바랍니다.
The Director’s swimming program continues each Saturday from 9am to noon. Please bring your parent badge to enter the gates. Last week we had over 40 students, parents and teachers join in for a dip in the pool.
校长家庭游泳活动每周六上午正常进行。参加者请带家长通行证入校。上周六来游泳池迎来了40余位师生家长参加活动。
디렉터 주관 가족수영 프로그램이 매주 토요일 오전 9시부터 12시까지 진행되고 있습니다. 출입시 학부모 통행증을 반드시 지참해 주시기 바랍니다. 지난주 40여명이 넘는 학생들과 교사 그리고 가족분들이 수영장에 모여 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다.
Our Early Childhood Program has some openings. Please share with your friends and community. Our teachers have a heart for children and will nurture their development emotionally, socially, and academically.

In Ms. Jola and Ms. Paula’s Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes the kids were being detectives as part of their class’ “Mysterious Me” theme.

In grade 6 art, students were practicing indirect self-portraits with shadows and reflections.

Mr. Lenhart’s G8 world history class, through small group collaboration, is learning more about ancient Greece.

Mr. Bresson’s instructional technology elective is currently working on coding. Here they are creating simple algorithms for ordering cards with limited input and output.

In Ms. Hart’s anatomy & physiology class, students were dissecting gummy bear candy cadavers.

Grade 4 students in Mrs. Rockwell’s class were doing a science experiment on weathering and erosion with a rock. In place of the rock was a cookie, mmm!

In Mrs. Ymas’ STEAM class, students produced artwork looking from a different lens, color blindness. Their theme of showing compassion and sensitivity.
