QISS Weekly Update: 2018-2019 WEEK 5

Dear QISS Families and Friends,

The international festival is next Saturday, September 22nd from 10am to 1pm. This is a required school day for students and staff. Thank you for supporting the event with your attendance and inviting your friends to join in on all the fun at QISS.

国际日活动将于下周六9月22日10点至1点举行，这一天是上课日所有学生老师必须到校。感谢大家邀请亲朋好友积极参与到活动中来。

9월22일 다음주 토요일 오전 10시부터 오후 1시까지 인터네셔널 데이가 본교에서 열립니다. 이날은 교사 및 학생들의 정상등교일에 해당되는 날입니다. 이번 행사에 참여해 주시는 분들께 감사의 말씀드리며 많은 분들이 즐길수 있도록 주변분들을 많이 초대해 주시기 바랍니다.

Morning: Buses are running 1 hour behind regular schedule, with students aiming to arrive at school at 9am.

早上接：校车推迟一小时接车，学生大约9点到校。

오전: 평소보다 1시간 늦은 시간에 승차 (9시 정도 학교 도착예정)

Afternoon: Buses leave school at 1:30pm.

下午送：校车1:30从学校发车。 오후: 1시30분에 학교에서 출발

ANNOUNCEMENTS

This past Tuesday afternoon, teachers gathered together for a professional development session. As a community of learners we hope to be models for our students, showing them the importance of continuous learning. The topics included cultural awareness, rigor in the classroom, and responsive teaching. At QISS, teachers are committed to developing themselves within this profession to benefit all students.

本周二的教研会，老师给孩子们很好地展示了终身学习的精神和重要性。教研会讨论的主题有文化意识、课堂的严谨以及应答教学。在QISS，这样的教研会是教师为了学生的成长而必须参加的培训学习。

지난 화요일 오후 본교에서 교사전문회의가 진행 되었습니다. 회의 주제는 다양한 문화의 이해, 엄격한 수업, 책임감있는 지도 등으로 이뤄졌습니다. QISS는 이런한 교사들의 전문적 발전이 학생들의 최선의 결과를 끌어내리라 믿습니다.

SCHOOL LIFE

As part of the regular PE curriculum, students at QISS get to enjoy 5 weeks of a swimming unit each semester. The QISS swimming pool is open on Saturdays from 9am to noon for QISS families as well.

作为体育课的内容之一，每学期有五个星期的游泳课，并且每周六的上午游泳馆也是对QISS的家庭开放的。 정규 체육수업의 과정중 하나인 수영수업이 각 학기의 5주간 편성되어 있습니다. 또한 QISS가족분들을 위하여 매주 토요일 오전 9시부터 12시까지 수영장이 무료 개방됩니다.

AP Calculus students in Mrs. Weaver’s class were using their knowledge of conic sections and polar equations to produce their own math art.

AP微积分课堂上，Mrs. Weaver的学生们在运用圆锥曲线和极坐标方程制作自己的数学作品。

Mrs. Weaver의 AP Calculus 시간에 학생들이 수학작품을 제작하기 위해 원뿔곡선 기하학과 극방정식의 지식을 이용하고 있습니다.

Mr. Cashman’s grade 10 Chemistry class was practicing reading detailed procedures and making proper lab observations through a variety of water filtration methods.

Mr. Cashman老师的十年级化学课，同学们在通过不同的水过滤方式来练习阅读细节过程和正确的实验观察。

10학년 화학수업에서 다양한 정수필터 방법을 통한 정확한 실험관찰과 과정을 읽는 연습을 하고 있습니다.

Mrs. June’s grade 2 students were playing games using number comparison skills and place value knowledge. Quote of the day – “It doesn’t matter who wins the game…we are really ALL winning because we are all LEARNING”.
