Thank you to everyone who attended our 2016 Talent Show. That event wrapped up a very short week, as we now break for Thanksgiving. We hope that all members of the QISS community spend quality time with their families and take the opportunity to express their gratitude to those they love.

Dear QISS Families and Guardians:
Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!
Being the number 1 American International School in Qingdao, QISS celebrates all American holidays. Thanksgiving Day is traditionally the one designated day in a calendar year wherein families come together and be thankful for the blessings of the year. This Thursday at QISS, we will honor and celebrate all our families. On Thanksgiving Day, we will recognize our QISS school community too, as one big extended happy family.
Allow me to share with you what I am personally thankful for. I am thankful for having the opportunity to be your partner in raising your child. In the USA, we say, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am thankful for all our students’ safety, good health, and strong determination to learn a different way. Our strength as a school lies on the quality of our students, your children. I am thankful for being blessed with exceptional colleagues this school year. We have to be thankful to our teachers and staff, for they are the backbone of our school. I am thankful for having sent our recent graduates to the top universities in the USA, in Canada and in South Korea, for their achievements become the identity of our school. Above all, I am thankful for QISS for continuing to trust our school team’s ability to deliver the best education possible around Qingdao.
We have had a strong beginning of the school year. Our SAT results, the types of universities our recent graduates are now attending, and the performance of our students in the partner schools in the USA – all point to the rigor and culture of our school. We are just approaching the halfway point of our school year. We at QISS promise to work even harder this school year and achieve even higher. Additionally, we are very proud of our growth as a school community in demonstrating cultural understanding, acceptance and tolerance, and a higher degree of the Shark’s spirit. Truly, it is everyone’s responsibility to help educate all of us how to demonstrate a “Mindful Heart.”

亲爱的QISS家长和监护人们，
感恩节假期快乐！
作为青岛最优秀的美国国际学校，QISS庆祝所有美国的节日。感恩节是传统的合家欢聚的节日，主题是与家人一起分享感恩的欢乐。本周四，QISS将与所有的家庭一起庆祝感恩节。这次感恩节，我们要与整个QISS社区一起度过，因为我们都属于同一个幸福的大家庭。
请允许我与大家分享我感恩的心情。我感谢自己有机会与各位家长共同教育你们的孩子。在美国有一个谚语：全村尽力才能养好一个孩子。可见培育一个孩子需要大家一起付出莫大的努力。我感谢所有的孩子们都安全健康, 拥有一颗决断的心投入我们富有特色的学习生活。我们学校的优势也正是来自你们的孩子—-我们拥有的优秀的学生。我感谢学校出色的教职员工团队，他们是QISS强壮的支柱。我感谢我们刚毕业的学生在美国，加拿大和韩国顶级的大学里开始了他们的新生活，他们的成就也证明了我们是优秀的国际学校。最重要的是，我感谢QISS作为一个高素质的集体，把我们最好的教育传播到了整个青岛。
我们在这个新学年里拥有一个顺利的开始。我们的SAT成绩，2016年毕业生被录取的大学以及我们的赴美学生在美国当地合作中学的出色表现，都证明了学校日常对学生的严格的要求并诠释了我们的学校文化。目前我们的学年将近过半，我们承诺我们将一如既往的努力并达到更高的目标。此外，我们对自己的进步和成长也非常自豪，在这个过程中，我们展现了对文化的理解，接受和包容，以及学校的官方吉祥物鲨鱼的活力精神。事实上，我们每一个人的责任都是互相学习如何展现“一颗包容的心”。

즐거운 추수감사절입니다!
QISS는 청도시 제일의 미국식 국제학교로서 미국공휴일을 기념하고있습니다. 추수감사절은 전통적으로 온 가족이 함께 모여 일년동안 축복받고 감사한일을 기념하기위한 날입니다. 이번주 목요일부터 추수감사절을 휴일로 맞아 각가정에서 행복하고 즐거운 시간 보내시기 바랍니다.
개인적으로 감사할일들을 여러분과 나누고 싶습니다. 먼저 여러분 자녀의 성장에 저희가 함께할수 있는 기회를 주심에 감사드립니다. 종종 미국에선 이러한 말들을 합니다 “어린이 한명을 기르기 위해서는 마을이 필요하다”. 저는 안전하게 건강히 그리고 다양한배움의 길에 매진하는 우리 학생들에게도 감사의 마음을 전합니다. 좋은학교는 좋은 학생들 즉 여러분의 자녀로 부터 만들어집니다. 저는 또한 올해 훌륭한 교사진들로 학교를 운영할수 있게되어 감사드립니다.저는 학교의 뼈대가 되는 중요한자리에서 맡은일을 해주는 교사와 직원들에게 모두 감사해야한다고 생각됩니다. 최근 소식을 전해오는 미국, 캐나다, 한국등 전세계 유수의 대학에 진학한 졸업생들에게도 감사를 드립니다.무엇보다 지역사회에서 최상의 교육을 제공할수 있게 믿음을 주고 지원해준 QISS에게 감사의 말을 전합니다.
저희는 새학년도 초반을 힘껏 달려왔습니다. 저희 SAT결과, 현재 학생들이 재학중인 대학들과 미국현지에 있는 자매결연학교들에서 보여주는 저희 학생들의 모습은 학교내의 엄격한 관리와 문화의 결과라 볼수 있습니다. 저희는 이제 올학년도의 절반의 지점으로 다가가고 있습니다. 저희 QISS는 더욱더 열심히 그리고 더욱더 높은 성취를 위해 노력할것을 약속드립니다. 또한 저희는 각 커뮤니티간의 문화이해,화합,포용력 그리고 샤크스피릿을 더욱더 높여주심에 무한한 자부심을 느낌니다. 학생들이 따뜻한 마음을 배우는 교육은 우리 모두의 역활일 것입니다.
